The Gender Lens on COVID: Impact, Recovery and Women’s Leadership

Dr. Betsy McGregor hosted a webinar on August 25 with Minister Mary Ng and Minister Bardish Chagger to generate dialogue surrounding why a “GENDER LENS” is indispensable in governing - especially amidst the COVID global pandemic.

More than ever before, the impact of Women’s leadership is being noticed and compared to other countries. Liverpool University released a report analyzing 194 countries to compare COVID outcomes in the 19 countries led by women. They found a significant and systemic difference in COVID outcomes and that this difference could, in part, be explained by women’s risk behaviour and Women’s leadership style.
