Women Empowered: Stories of Overcoming Adversity

To extend the impact of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, World Vision McMaster will be hosting a nation-wide webinar on November 25th. Keynote speakers will be Shakila Zareen, a survivor of domestic and sexual violence from Afghanistan, and Friba Rezayee (translator), one of the first female Olympic athletes from Afghanistan. Dr. Betsy McGregor will be speaking on her experiences as an advocate on behalf of women and youth, and a trailblazer for gender mainstreaming in agriculture, science and technology with UN and FAO experience.
